A reader contacted Factcrescendo on fact line number 9049053770 to fact check this cutting.
However, when Factcrescendo investigated this viral post, we found out that this cutting is fake and it is being made viral in a wrong way.
This is how the post was investigated
The date of publication in the viral newspaper cutting was June 2, 2016. The team discovered the June 2, 2016 edition of Amar Ujala. of that date before us Amar Ujala Revealed. We did not find any news like viral cutting in the entire newspaper.
Going further, on relevant keyword search we found an explanation of Amar Ujala published on June 2, 2016. It was written, “In the name of Amar Ujala, a fake news is being spread on social media mentioning Prahlad Modi. Amar Ujala has nothing to do with this news. Amar Ujala strongly condemns the spread of such fake news. This fake news has been viral on social media in the name of Amar Ujala. Appropriate legal action will be taken against the culprits by Amar Ujala.”
Fact Crescendo also contacted Prahlad Modi to get more information in this regard. Prahlad Modi said, “When the news of Amar Ujala came to my notice, I contacted their editor and asked him what was going on. Because I have never met anyone nor have I given any such statement. I said that I will file a complaint against him. The editor then assured me that he would file a complaint as it was fake news and the newspaper had not published any such news. They also sent me a copy of the FIR, but I don’t have it yet. This news is completely baseless. I never made such a statement.
What was the conclusion?
After examining all the facts, we can say that the viral newspaper clipping is fake. Amar Ujala never published any news with such a headline and Prahlad Modi has also not given any such statement.
